We first became AKC breeders in 1985, eventually showing and finishing Cocker Spaniels. Over the years, we owned seven Cocker Spaniel Champions. Because of the demanding grooming regimen of Cockers and our love for pugs, we shifted our focus toward pugs.
We officially became AKC pug breeders in 2008.
We get this question a lot: Why Pugs?
Of course, this question is asked by people who have never had a Pug in their life! Pugs are the Clowns of the dog world.
I fell in love with Puggies over a decade ago while working at "A Dog's Best Friend" in Salem, MA...I just love their silly outgoing personalities! Pugs really do have a sense of humor and take great delight in making people laugh. Who wouldn't fall in love with a face like that?!! Our first pug "Eggroll" the matriarch was the comedian in our home. She adored all of our cocker spaniels,(and they loved her!) and puppies too. She had been the perfect 'babysitter' to our Cocker pups.
We kept two pups from the original litter and it all started from there.
